About Bill Gallagher, Chairman

I was a saw mill hand, mine mechanic and equipment operator in Dillon, MT before I graduated from Western Montana College in 1983 with a BS in secondary education with a major in social sciences.

I taught high school civics and history and coached in Plains, MT for four years. During which, I took a summer job selling insurance with the Farm Bureau Companies. In 1987 I took over a full time insurance agency in Polson MT and in 1990, I was named agency manager for western Montana. During our time in Polson my wife and I also owned and operated the Polson Days Inn and Club Wave Water Sport Rentals.

In 1996 Farm Bureau asked me to serve in Helena. There, we bought and learned to farm 125 acres, evenings and weekends.

In 2005, I earned a Juris Doctorate from the University of Montana School of Law and have maintained a private law practice (estate, and business planning, real estate, land use, probate and utility law) in Helena since.

I am married to my high school sweet heart, Jennifer. We have two grown children.
