Montana Public Service Commission Highlights “Fix-a-Leak Week” March 18-24
The Montana Public Service Commission (PSC) is highlighting the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s “Watersense” initiative and its annual “Fix-a-Leak Week” March 18-24.
The focus of the program is to promote water efficiency and conservation through public awareness and information campaign activities. This year, the EPA WaterSense program announced that it would hold its annual “Fix-a-Leak Week” initiative March 18-24, 2024. The EPA and the Montana PSC are taking this week to remind Montanans to check their household fixtures and irrigation systems for leaks.
PSC President James Brown said of the program, “Our precious water resources are one of the most important assets we have in the Treasure State. Conservation and efficient use of this vital resource benefits all Montanans. The Montana PSC is partnering with U.S. EPA and the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC), the national organization representing America’s public service commissions, to promote this important public information campaign.
More information, including facts and figures on water leaks can be found on the EPA WaterSense “Fix-a-Leak Week” homepage at https://www.epa.gov/watersense/fix-leak-week.
The Montana Public Service Commission regulates private investor-owned natural gas, electric, telephone, water, and sewer companies, certain motor carriers, and oversees natural gas pipeline safety and intrastate railroad safety. The Commission works to ensure that Montanans receive safe and reliable service from regulated public utilities while paying reasonable rates.
